See money as energy, not just as currency. This simple shift in perspective can take some pressure off. For example, if the idea of charging people for your services causes stress, think of your rates as an energy exchange. In exchange for the energy you put into your work, you receive the energy that someone else put into earning the money that you’re collecting for your service.
Let go of fear-based desire for money. According to McCrum, when you get caught up in the energy of fear, you can’t attract or hold onto money. It finds ways to escape you, because you’re not in alignment with the energy of money. You’re stuck in an energy that repels it. Instead, cultivate calm receptivity and trust.
Align your money with your values.
When your financial decisions mirror your values, abundance becomes more natural. Think about what’s important to you. It’s not about feeling like you deserve the money you ask for or want to receive. It’s about knowing that what you are providing is important enough that the exchange of money only makes sense.Build a new blueprint for making money. This book isn’t really about saving and investing—rather, it provides a different framework for generating money. You need only ask for the money you want to receive, and believe that you can have it. If you can stay in that frequency, the Universe will provide you with the opportunity to earn the money you’ve asked to receive.
Develop your capacity to receive.
Part of the work is to open up to receiving money and value. Can you shift your beliefs around what it takes to earn money? Try engaging in practices that help to put you into a state of receiving, and make that a part of your business ecosystem.Make decisions from clarity, not from anxiety. When you keep thinking about how much you “need money” the Universe responds by keeping you in a state of “needing it.” Think about what it would feel like to ask for money from a state of calm, and to know that you will receive whatever you ask for… in this case there’s no room for fear or lack or need. And that is how the energy of money flows.
Use your business to contribute to the world, not just pull profit. Your business and the work you do is so much more than an opportunity for you to earn money. It’s an opportunity to contribute to others and the world around you. How does it feel to think about your work in this way?
